Day 1 Montreal | Transfer to your vessel. Upon settling in, your local guide will meet you onboard to give you an historical overview of exotic Montreal. The city boasts being the world's second largest French-speaking city after Paris. |
Day 2 Montreal | Take a fascinating and historical walking tour of Old Montreal. Visit the Place d'Armes, famous Notre Dame Basilica built in 1829. Visit Bonsecours Market, a jewel in Montréal's heritage crown, the City Hall, the National Archives and many other historical monuments reflect the colourful past of this magnificent city. Visit St. Joseph's Oratory, one of the world's most visited shrines and with a dome second in height only to St. Peter's in Rome. Or, visit the biosphere, housing four natural ecosystems under one domed roof, from the Rocky Mountains to the St. Lawrence River Marine Ecosystem. Return to your vessel in the late afternoon. This evening, dine in one of the many world-renowned restaurants. |
Day 3 Montreal to Quebec City
| Depart this morning on the magnificent St. Lawrence River to Quebec City. This afternoon, explore the historical features of the Upper Town followed by the Lower Town of Quebec City. The old town consists of narrow cobbled streets, so be prepared to experience the fascinations on foot - the perfect way to absorb the local charm and historical feel of this magical city. Return to your ship for dinner. |
Day 4 Quebec City | This morning, travel along the King's Road, Canada's oldest roadway, to Ste. Anne de Beaupré. A charming village and home to one of Quebec's most impressive basilicas. Visit the historical Ile d'Orléans, Orleans Island, a colorful small island steeped in farming tradition and artist's shops with European settlement dating back to the early-1700's. Visit to a local cidrerie for a taste of delicious apple cider - possibly from the fruits claiming lineage to those from Napoleon's own having been brought from his farms in France! Lunch at a quaint restaurant featuring locally-prepared delicacies. Stop at the impressive Montmorency Falls. With a height of 272 feet, it is one and half times higher than Niagara Falls. |
Day 5 Quebec City to Tadoussac
| Sail down the St. Lawrence River to the Saguenay River. Anchor in picturesque Tadoussac, a quaint little village with a dedication to the sea including a renowned whale museum. This afternoon, float around with a naturalist onboard. Become immersed in this incredible region - summer home to a vast number of whale species. Discuss some of the whale projects being worked on which includes not only Canadian teams, but international ones as well. |
Day 6 Tadoussac to L'Anse de Roche
| Today, you will explore the waters of the St. Lawrence onboard a private zodiac boat. Observe the whales at close range. You may see, Minke, Fin, Beluga and the world's largest, the Blue Whale. Cruise to L'Anse de Roche on the Saguenay River and just around the corner from Tadoussac. |
Day 7 L'Anse de Roche to La Baie
| Try your fly-fishing skills in one of the local rivers teeming with the multitude of Atlantic Salmon that return each year. Experience the thrill at casting and reeling in what may be your delectable dinner tonight! Later, cruise up the Saguenay River Fjord.
