Florida & the Bahamas

Florida & the Bahamas

A string of islands stretching from the southernmost point of the continental United States, the Florida Keys are like an elongated string of cities and villages, each with its own personality, from Key West to Key Largo.

Just 50 miles off the Florida coast and continuing 600 miles towards the Caribbean lie the 700 islands of the Bahamas. Covering 150,000 square miles of tropical sea, the shallow blue waters are home to over 29 dive destinations, unspoiled reefs, a plethora of wrecks, dolphins, spectacular blue holes and fantastic caves. Each island of the Bahamas has its own personality and something different to offer, from the cosmopolitan capital of Nassau, to the 100-mile string of pristine cays known as the Exumas.

Itinerary - Nassau to the Exumas to Harbour Island

Day 1
Nassau, New Providence to Paradise Island

Fly to Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas and join your yacht in the spectacular, world class Atlantis Marina on nearby Paradise Island. Dedicated to fun and relaxation, the island has stunning beaches, a plethora of resorts and boutiques, the largest casino in the Caribbean, and one of the world's most impressive salt-water aquariums.

Day 2
Paradise Island to Warderick Wells Cay
(40 Nautical Miles)

Cruise to the 365 islands and cays strung across more than 120 miles of ocean that make up The Exumas. Anchor of Warderick Wells Cay and its 176-square mile natural marine preserve, which is home to brilliant coral reefs and exotic marine life. Explore the numerous hiking trails dotted around the island.

Day 3
Warderick Wells Cay to Staniel Cay
(20 Nautical Miles)

Continue down the Exumas to a protected anchorage off Big Major's Spot, ideal for watersports. Cruise onto nearby Staniel Cay and Thunderball Grotto, where the James Bond movie was filmed. Take an air tour of the island, or feed Emily, the wild swimming pig on Big Major's Beach. Then cruise through to Sampson Cay Resort and Marina for cocktails.

Day 4
Staniel Cay to Compass Cay
(10 Nautical Miles)

Berth in Compass Cay Marina and take the tender to the spectacular horseshoe beach on the east side. Relax in the huge natural Jacuzzi known as Rachel's Bubblebath.

Day 5
Compass Cay to Shroud Cay
(30 Nautical Miles)

Tender across to the archipelago of mangrove known as Shroud Cay. Snorkel through the crystal-clear creeks that connect the island for a view of the local sanctuary fish, before landing on the spectacular baby-soft-sand beaches for a cold margarita.

Day 6
Shroud Cay to Allan's Cay to Highbourne Cay
(20 Nautical Miles)

Anchor off Allan's Cay and feed bananas to the local Bahamian iguanas, the largest named Elvis, before berthing among the visiting spotted rays in the port Highbourne Cay.

Day 7
Highbourne Cay to Harbour Island, Eleuthera
(60 Nautical Miles)

Cruise to Eleuthera, famous for its abundance of water-related activities, with great fishing holes and dive spots. A pilot will guide your megayacht through the treacherous Devil's Backbone Reef. Discover Harbour Island with its Pink Beach, pretty pastel homes, and some of the best nightlife in the Bahamas.

Day 8
Eleuthera to Nassua
(40 Nautical Miles)

Return to Nassau for disembarkation and to Rose Island for a final swim in the blue Bahamian waters.
