Name of Position:
Yacht Captain
Position Duties:
Reporting to the owner, the Captain will be required to administrate the operation and well-being of yacht and to deliver a high quality, safe experience for the owners, the charterers and the crew.
The Captain of the yacht will also work with the Chief Steward and the Chef to plan and deliver the yacht experience and be available to liaise with the owners and the charter guests before and after they board the yacht and then deliver a service, which matches their expectations.
Qualifications:
The captain will hold all of the required licences mandated by the I.M.O. in the S.T.C.W. regulations. These and his/her captain's level of proficiency be suitable for both the vessel and the region where it will be operated. The captain will be able to document these qualifications with copies of the original documents.
The captain is able comply with all United States and local state legal statutes which pertain to alcohol, fire-arms and prohibited drugs. The captain will also be able to demonstrate his/her compliance with these statutes if necessary.
Reporting line:
This position will report to the owner of the vessel.
Compensation:
Compensation* can vary between vessels but this position is expected to offer a starting salary of US$45,000 to US$190,000 per year . In addition, some positions offer a benefit program, air fare to and from the yacht and a share in the gratuities from charter work.
*Compensation will vary on the degree of experience, the size of the yacht and the owner.

Location of work:
The Mega yachts where these positions are being offered are mostly located in both the Caribbean and in the Mediterranean. Other positions come available in other regions and will depend on availability and experience of the crew and the capability of the yachts.
